Self Help Guides – Look For Practical Lessons

I follow a very simple rule when analyzing self help guides. Does the guide narrate instances of how people have improved their lives? Does it provide practical stories with hidden lessons? If yes, then I automatically rank such a guide as a must buy book. On the other hand, a guide that simply gives me a long lecture on why it is important to stay motivated and why one should treat all problems in lives as opportunities does not make sense.

Let us face the truth here. We are all aware of the fundamentals of self help. It is something that we have been taught in childhood. However, as we grow older, we find it impossible to stick to these theoretical lessons. We find it impossible to stay motivated when nothing is going right. In such a scenario, creating a story about how an individual working in a cleaning company Kingston managed to overcome his or her depression and suicidal thoughts to get back on track in life will definitely be a motivating experience.

Always purchase a guide that gives you fantastic and near impossible stories. The fact that such events have taken place will definitely encourage you. What if these stories are not real? Well, the fact that human mind has come up with such stories means that we are capable of performing these activities. That is the approach that one should take to secure the best possible self help.

Instead of listing various reasons why you cannot help yourself, you should give yourself the benefit of doubt and presume that you can do something that there is patently impossible if you work hard at it.
